What is the difference between ASD 535-3 and ASD 535-4?

ASD 535-3 has one high-performance detection channel; ASD 535-4 has two independent channels. Select ASD 535-4 when two zones must be sampled, indicated or controlled independently—not simply because its combined headline capacity is larger.

Which aspirating smoke detector should a data centre use?

There is no universal data-centre model. ASD 531 can be screened for an individual rack or small room, ASD 532 for a medium high-sensitivity single-pipe system, ASD 535-3 for a large single zone, and ASD 535-4 for two independently evaluated zones. How does aspirating smoke detection differ from point smoke detection?

ASD actively draws air through sampling pipes to a central detection chamber; a point smoke detector waits for smoke to reach its installed location.
