ASD 531, 532,
535-3 or 535-4?
The decisive differences are channel structure, sampling-network capability, environment and interface requirements—not headline area alone.

| Main limitations | Not intended for long, two-zone or below -10 °C projects; no ASD 532 Ethernet capability. | Not intended for two independent channels, very large networks or below -20 °C environments. | One independent channel; not a substitute when two zones require separate judgement. | Usually excessive for a small single zone; both channels require separate calculation and identification. |
| Inputs required before selection | Confirm short-network fit and interface, display and temperature requirements. | Provide HVAC states, return-air / room strategy and integration requirements. | Confirm one large independent zone; provide long-network, low-temperature and contamination conditions. | Define two zone boundaries, two PipeFlow models, power and independent alarm logic. |

A candidate model becomes a project decision only after destination-market approval review, a current ASD PipeFlow report and competent fire-strategy coordination.
Selection questions
Direct answers for the first screening step.
What is the key difference between ASD 531 and ASD 532?
ASD 532 offers a lower pre-signal threshold, higher suction pressure, a wider temperature range, a 10-level display and network interfaces. ASD 531 is suited to compact, short-network projects.
How should ASD 535-3 and ASD 535-4 be selected?
Use ASD 535-3 when one independent channel satisfies the project. Evaluate ASD 535-4 when two zones require independent sampling, indication or control.
Can a model be selected by maximum area?
No. Approval, class, pipe length, holes, transport time, airflow, environment, interfaces and maintenance must also be satisfied in a project-specific calculation.
