A high-performance fan continuously draws air through the sampling pipe network. After filtration, the air is analysed in the detection chamber so staged alarms can be raised at the earliest signs of smoke.

ASD 531 is configured locally using BasiConfig and has no PC or network interface. ASD 532 provides Ethernet and RS-485; ASD 535 uses USB and optional RS-485 without native Ethernet. Event figures in this table are on-board capacities; MCM35 is an optional storage expansion.
