Compact single-channel aspirating smoke detector

ASD 531

SecuriSmoke ASD 531 is intended for small monitoring areas, individual server racks, clean rooms, false ceilings and other compact protection zones with a short sampling pipe network.

Where it fits.
Where it does not.

Start with zone structure, pipe complexity, environment, interfaces and destination-market approval—not maximum area alone.

Screen this model when

  • Compact rooms or equipment enclosures with one short, concentrated sampling network
  • Individual server, control or electrical cabinets where sampling must follow the equipment airflow
  • Projects where installation volume, power demand and accessible maintenance are important

Usually not the first choice when

  • Long-pipe, large-area or two-zone systems requiring independent detection channels
  • Locations where the detector will remain below -10 °C
  • Projects requiring Ethernet connectivity, a 10-level smoke display or higher suction pressure

Project rule: published maxima are not construction values. Use the current ASD PipeFlow version and obtain competent destination-market review.

Pipe, detection, environment
and installation constraints

These conditions change sampling performance, transport time and false-alarm control.

01

Sampling pipe

Use the project pipe specification and calculate hole diameters, pressure, balance and transport time in the current Securiton ASD PipeFlow software. The maximum pipe value is not a substitute for a calculation.

02

Detection

Sampling holes must be positioned where smoke-laden air will actually pass. Cabinet fan pressure and door-open conditions can change the result and require a functional smoke test.

03

Environment

The detector operating range is -10 °C to +55 °C and up to 95% relative humidity without condensation. Moisture, heavy dust and condensation require project-specific treatment.

04

Installation

Allow accessible space for commissioning, filter replacement and testing. Pipe entry, capillary routing and return-air arrangements must follow the approved project design.

Approvals and destination-market use

An approval mark does not mean automatic acceptance in every country, configuration or fire system.

Common selection questions

Public answers support first-stage screening; formal confirmation requires project inputs.

What is the ASD 531 used for?

ASD 531 is used for small monitoring areas such as individual server racks, small equipment rooms, clean rooms and false ceilings. It is a compact single-channel model, but the sampling network still requires a project-specific PipeFlow calculation.

Can 800 m² be used as a universal design area?

No. The 800 m² figure belongs to the mainland China product-sheet configuration. An international project must use the applicable approval, EN 54-20 class, local code and a project-specific sampling-pipe calculation.

When should ASD 532 be considered instead?

Consider ASD 532 when the project needs a lower pre-signal threshold, higher suction pressure, a broader operating-temperature range, Ethernet or a longer single-pipe network.
