High-sensitivity single-channel aspirating smoke detector

ASD 532

SecuriSmoke ASD 532 is a compact detector for medium-sized monitoring areas including data rooms, clean rooms, laboratories, server racks and telecommunications equipment.

Where it fits.
Where it does not.

Start with zone structure, pipe complexity, environment, interfaces and destination-market approval—not maximum area alone.

Screen this model when

  • Medium-sized data rooms, laboratories and communications facilities requiring very early warning
  • Single-channel systems needing a lower pre-signal threshold and higher suction pressure than ASD 531
  • Projects requiring Ethernet and RS-485 connectivity for integration or service access

Usually not the first choice when

  • Two independent detection zones or extensive long-pipe networks that require two channels
  • Locations where the detector will remain below -20 °C
  • Corrosive, condensing or heavy-dust environments without appropriate accessories and maintenance controls

Pipe, detection, environment
and installation constraints

These conditions change sampling performance, transport time and false-alarm control.

01

Sampling pipe

All branches, bends, capillaries and sampling holes must be represented in ASD PipeFlow. Pipe length alone cannot confirm transport time, pressure or Class A, B or C performance.

02

Detection

Return-air detection depends on the HVAC operating state. Shutdown, standby and incident modes must be considered together with room or cabinet sampling where required.

03

Environment

The detector operating range is -20 °C to +60 °C and up to 95% relative humidity without condensation. High air velocity must not create negative pressure at a sampling hole.

04

Installation

Return-air sampling positions and hole direction must be verified against the actual grille, airflow and smoke-test result. Keep the detection unit and filters accessible.

Approvals and destination-market use

An approval mark does not mean automatic acceptance in every country, configuration or fire system.

Common selection questions

Public answers support first-stage screening; formal confirmation requires project inputs.

What is the main difference between ASD 532 and ASD 531?

ASD 532 has a lower pre-signal threshold, higher suction pressure, a wider operating-temperature range, a 10-level smoke display and network interfaces. It is generally evaluated for medium-sized critical environments.

Can ASD 532 be used only for return-air sampling?

It can be evaluated for return-air sampling, but the result depends on HVAC operation. The fire strategy must consider shutdown and airflow-change conditions and decide whether room or cabinet sampling is also needed.

Can the 120 m EN 54-20 value be applied to every market?

No. The usable limit depends on the approval, EN 54-20 class, project topology and destination-market requirements. It must not be mixed with mainland China configuration values.
